Barbara Maher, Office Manager, Manahawkin

I was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania to loving parents, my Mother was a stay at home Mom for myself and my twin brother. My Father was a Professional baseball player for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Because of his profession we did quite a bit of traveling, we lived in several States including California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and New Jersey.

As a child I attended several schools, which gave me an opportunity to meet a lot of different children.

As a young adult I worked for New Jersey Bell as a telephone operator for 6 years, until I married and started my family.

After several years at home with my family I went back into the workforce working for a local Insurance agency, I worked my way up to office manager. My department handled all the automobile claims for N.J. assigned risk policies. .

As much as I enjoyed my work in insurance when our office had to downsize, I decided I wanted to go into something more fulfilling.

I was very fortunate to learn of a young Doctor who was just starting in her Oncology practice. I worked for her for several years as her Medical Assistant and office manager. I found this position to be very fulfilling. I enjoyed this position very much until I moved from the area and had to leave.

I had been retired for quite some time when I was asked by R-Research if I would be interested in working front desk at Dr. Rizvi’s office in Manahawkin, N.J. I am very proud to be part of the R-Endocrinology team and enjoy working for Dr. Rizvi.

In addition to my position at R-Research I am currently married with 3 children, 3 stepchildren and 12 grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 22.

At this stage of my life I enjoy several different activities such as yoga and dancing, I also enjoy different crafting hobbies such as knitting, crocheting and sewing.

If you should decide to see Dr. Rizvi at his Manahawkin office I assure you that you will find a concerned and compassionate staff. I look forward to seeing you and helping you in any way I can.
